Cobb County Transit Fare Increase November 1, 2007

Cobb Community Transit (CCT) has revised its fare and ticketing structure for the purposes of eliminating underutilized fare products, simplifying the system’s ticketing program and increasing revenue in an attempt to offset increased costs.    Prior to adoption by the Cobb Board of Commissioners, CCT officials held a series of public information meetings in various locations throughout the county, seeking the input of those who utilize CCT service.  The new fare structure will go into effect beginning November 1, 2007.   CCT has fourteen local bus routes that primarily serve the more-urbanized areas of Cobb County.   Eight of those routes provide direct access to the MARTA system by way of the Arts Center, Civic Center, Dunwoody and HE Holmes transit stations.   Additionally, seven express (commuter) routes (operated in a partnership with GRTA) provide service to downtown Atlanta.   Local service fares have increased from $1.25 to $1.50, while express fares have increased from $3 one-way/$4 round-trip to $3 one-way/$6 round trip.
