Citizen's Publlc Safety Academy
The Cobb County Department of Public Safety will once again sponsor a Citizen's Public Safety Academy. This program provides an opportunity for Cobb County Citizens to obtain an insider's look into the various entities that comprise the Department Of Public Safety.
During the course, participants will gain knowledge and insight as to how the Fire, Police, and 911 departments are organized and the important role each one plays in fulfilling the myriad of tasks that ensure the safety of all the citizens of Cobb County.
The tentative schedule for the program to begin is Tuesday, September 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Classes will be conducted most Tuesday evenings for the next 8 to 12 weeks (exact timeline to be determined ).
Interested participants should contact the Department of Public Safety Training Center at 770-499-4100 or e-mail cbrumelow@cobbcounty.org.
Well, seems one of our PENS members checked into the details for the Citizens Public Safety Academy. This is what was forwarded to me-
Mark, just a quick note as you may already be aware of the info. I went on line this morning and obtained the info on this 12 week course. Per the schedule sent to me by Ms Brumelow, classes are from 6-9 PM each Monday and interest has been extremely high and will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
Applications must be delivered in person, signed in front of an IA representative and a background check is required. The course outline looks great.
